This site is designed for students of biology and botany as well as for gardeners and plant enthusiasts in general. One can go to a topic index to find a list of plants and from that list select a plant. This will lead one to a text and photo "portrait" of that plant covering aspects from straight botany to history, cultural uses and cultivation.

In addition to the plant lists are indices for topics in biology, botany and horticulture which lead to academic pages with text, images and links. Finally, a dictionary is provided for botanical and horticultural terms.
